“I rarely leave bad reviews, but my stay at Candlewood Suites Watertown was honestly very disappointing. Carla at the front desk was kind and accommodating, and she was probably the only positive part of the experience. The room smelled terrible, like a closed unused room full of dust and mold. There were spider webs everywhere, flies inside the room, and the living room area smelled very bad, like it had not been cleaned or used properly for a long time. The curtains were broken, the windows...

“Very clean motel. Quiet and spacious rooms. The sweet elderly woman at the desk upon check in was extremely helpful in suggesting a place to eat within 10 minutes which was absolutely delicious. Shower had A LOT of pressure. You definitely got clean using that!! If I ever find myself around Watertown again, I’ll definitely stay there again. Price is a bargain for what you get.”

“It was new and very clean. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. I would have liked a map of the city to help me find my way around! I will be returning as necessary.”

“Property was ok...but got hit witha pet charge of $65 that was mentioned NOWHERE when we reserved on Expedia. They did let us stay an extra hour or so as our car was being repaired..but we more than paid for that hour apparently.”

“For starters the staff was very pleasant, room was clean, bedding was excellent, no issues with parking. Having a breakfast at the hotel is perfect and the choices were great for the days we stayed.”

“The whole hotel has a very strong, cheap scent. It’s very overwhelming. Staff was not present at the desk at check in or check out, we had to ring a bell and wait for them to come. During check out we rang the bell and were addressed by someone through a ring camera behind the desk who essentially just shouted check-out instructions at us. This building needs a serious renovation, it’s outdated by 40years minimum — The reason for my score is based on our bed having an obviously dirty pillow...

“Decent hotel. Your average room amenities probably a little past its prime but still a clean and reliable hotel to stay. Staff was very nice.”

“The only good thing was the price. Hotel needs to upgrade about everything. Wallpaper was coming off the wall. The ac was barely working. There was rust on the microwave. The bed was very uncomfortable. In the bathroom the ceiling looked like there was a leak recently, it was covered up with plaster. Would not recommend.”

“With a little walk down the hill there was seats to sit and watch the sunset on the lake !!! It was an amazing view . There was also a nice fire pit to enjoy outside.”
